Depending on what you’re looking for, another option is the 357 hp Hemi 5.7 liter V8 (390 lb-ft) engine available for the Overland and Summit models. The engine can deactivate four cylinders as needed for greater fuel economy. In this case, the towing capacity is increased to 7,200 lbs (3,266 kg).
All SUV engines are mated to a TorqueFlite 8-speed four-wheel-drive automatic transmission. This known and trusted engine/transmission combination reduces fuel consumption while retaining vehicle capability.
In a few months a new powertrain, the 4xe plug-in hybrid, will be added to the current lineup. An enhanced fuel-efficient engine will arrive by the end of the year.
